Kennard Quiz – V.E. Day Themed

On Friday evening Kennard Lodge hosted a Quiz night with a V.E. Day theme. Those attending dressed in traditional 1940’s clothing to add that authentic V.E. Day touch ! The evening raised ÂŁ620 towards the maintenance and renovation of Pontypool Masonic Centre. A huge thank you to the members of Kennard Lodge for organising the event, particularly the Worshipful Master, Clint Fisher and his Senior Warden Clayton Fisher.

On Monday 28th April 2025, Worshipful Brother Clinton Fisher, the Worshipful Master of Kennard Lodge, in company with the Senior Warden Bro Clayton Fisher and W. Bro Huw Williams attended the Retired Ladies Society “The Silver Belles” where a cheque for ÂŁ250 was presented to their Chair, Mrs Doreen Phillips. This was well received as a boost to their funds enabling activities and excursions for the Ladies.

And on Tuesday 29th April 2025, W. Bro Clinton Fisher, the Worshipful Master of Kennard Lodge, in company with the Senior Warden Bro Clayton Fisher and W Bro Huw Williams attended the Pontypool Retired Men’s Society when a cheque for ÂŁ250 was presented to their Chair, This was well received and will go towards the activities of the Society.

This evening Mr. Nigel Cuttell, was initiated into Freemasonry, into Henllys Lodge number 8283, becoming Brother Nigel Cuttell. Welcome to Freemasonry Brother Nigel. An excellent ceremony delivered in the presence of the Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Christopher R. Evans, was followed by a well attended festive board. Brother Nigel was again welcomed into Freemasonry at the Festive Board and a toast to him given by his Proposer Brother Stuart Keyte. We look forward to your progression in Freemasonry Bro. Nigel and to enjoying your company for many years to come.

Saturday evening saw the Freemason’s of Pontypool, their wives, family, friends and guests enjoy a fantastic Spring Ball at Green Meadow Golf Club. After a delightful meal entertainment was provided courtesy of the Tena Ladies and Tom Jones, followed by a D.J. and disco. The frivolities continued until midnight. Huge thanks to Worshipful Master Jon Davies and his wife, Angela, for organising the event and all those that assisted them from the Lodges at Pontypool. All four of the Pontypool Craft Lodges, Kennard, Trevethin, Llantarnam and Henllys, were well represented and all enjoyed a great evening. The generosity of those providing raffle prizes and those buying raffle tickets raised ÂŁ830 towards the maintenance and renovation of Pontypool Masonic Centre.

Worshipful Brother Gareth White, Treasurer of the Board of Management, said at the presentation of the cheque “Thank you all for your generosity. Our building at Pontypool has been a home to Freemasonry for 100 years. This will help to ensure the building serves us for another 100 years.”

Another outstanding social event for the Province of Monmouthshire.

Henllys Fellow Craft

Monday evening saw Brother David Poulsom passed to the degree of a Fellow Craft Freemason in an excellent and sometimes entertaining ceremony. The evening was well attended with Brethren travelling from far and wide, in particular brethren from Aldershot who served with Brother David.

The Lodge Treasurer, Brother Stuart Howells commented, “Another excellent evening last night with some superb support off our visitors! The atmosphere was amazing as emphasised by the visitors toast. Congratulations to David on being raised and again thank you all for your superb support. Long may it continue!”
